Al-ḥamdu l-illāhi rabbi l-ʿālamīn is the first verse of the first surah of the Quran. “All praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Universe”
Virtues of Surah Fatiha
Abu Sa’id Ar-Rafi bin Al-Mu’alla (May Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said, “Shall I teach you the greatest Surah in the Qur’an before you leave the mosque?” Then he (ﷺ), took me by the hand, and when we were about to step out, I reminded him of his promise to teach me the greatest Surah in the Qur’an. He (ﷺ) said, “It is ‘Alhamdu lillahi Rabbil ‘Alamin (i.e., Surat Al-Fatihah) which is As-Sab’ Al-Mathani (i.e., the seven oft- repeated Ayat) and the Great Qur’an which is given to me.”

Virtues of Ayat-ul-Kursi
The 255th verse of Surah Baqarah is known as Ayatul Kursi. It is one of those verses that are memorized by almost all Muslims around the world, because of its virtues. It is profound in meaning and has many benefits, some of which include;
“When leaving home, if one recites it once, the Almighty has one group of Angels to come and protect you. If recited twice, 2 groups of Angels are assigned to do this. If recited 3 times Allah tells the Angels not to worry as the Almighty himself takes care of him”
“The Holy Prophet (saw) has said: If one recites Ayatul Kursi before going to sleep, Allah will send an Angel to come and look after you and protect you till the morning. His home, family and also neighbours will remain in safety until morning.”
“One who recites it after every prayer, thier salaat will be accepted, they will remain in the safety of the Almighty and He will protect them.”

The most common place you’d hear Bismillah Hir Rahman Nir Rahim being recited is before reading the Holy Book (Quran). It’s also said during obligatory prayers (salat) before Surah Fatiha but it is Sunnah that this be recited silently in the reader’s head.
